Priestess: Meh…decided to do this one night when I was roleplaying and talking about how it’s fun to bug the characters Hiei and Bakura, which it is. ^.^
Bakura: I still can’t stand you.
Priestess: You keep telling yourself that. Anyway! I have a couple ideas, and this really won’t have a plot unless my friend (who I was roleplaying with to begin with) decides to help me write this…*gets evil glint in eyes*)
Bakura: What makes you think she’s your friend?
Priestess: True…I like to think she’s one, therefore I call her one. If she asks me to stop, I will.
Bakura: *grumbles at the lack of being able to fluster me*
Priestess: Heh…anyway! Bakura won’t be in this chapter, and I don’t really know WHEN he’ll be in one, so…yeah…just some Ryou goodness with a bit of fluff here an there…^.^ There might also be a side pairing, such as a bit of you/Yami(Atemu)…
Bakura: Baka…
Priestess: Just so you all know, I jump back in forth between Yami, and Atemu…^.^’
Bakura: She doesn’t own anything…
“Nope, I still don’t get it,” you say, tears of frustration clouding your hazel eyes turning them a bluish-grey. “Explain it to me again, Ryou.”
“Angel, perhaps we shouldn’t bother anymore tonight,” the white-haired bishounen says, and you can hear the whine. “We’ve been at this for hours everyday for the past two weeks.”
You glare at him. “Fine! Don’t explain to me what keeps you so preoccupied that you forget about me!” This said, you get up off the floor of your best, and only, friend’s bedroom and started down the stairs.
“Sachiel, wait!”
Stopping at the bottom of the steps, you turn and look back up at your friend. He’s slowly coming down the stairs towards you; as if he’s afraid you’ll run away from him if he gets too close. In his eyes, you can see sadness and confusion, mixed with a little worry and you mentally kick yourself for caring.
“What, Ryou?” you mumble, look away from his eyes.
He stops on the step three above you. “I haven’t forgotten about you…”
You snort and cross your arms, before looking back up at him. “Oh? If that’s true, what was yesterday?”
“The day I got the invitation to the tournament…” he says, frowning in confusion. {Sorry, forgot what it was called.}
You sigh. “The date, Ryou. The date.”
“March 5, why?”
You just give him a sad look, as tears fill your eyes. When they start to roll down your cheeks, you don’t even bother to stop them. He looks at you in surprise when he sees your tears.
“What?” he asks in confusion.
“Yesterday was my birthday, Ryou,” you say softly.
He inhales sharply, but it’s too late, you’re already sobbing—although you’re trying aimlessly to keep them silent. It’s not working.
Alright, so you probably don’t think that him missing one birthday is a big deal, but it is.
You haven’t really had a happy life—and your previous teenage years are basically hell on earth. You parents are never home, and when they are, they lock themselves up in the basement where they work constantly so you never see them. On rare occasions that you do see them, they just look at you as if trying to remind you that you’re really just a mistake, and on top of not wanting you in the first place, they wanted a boy. {Heh…^.^;;}
Birthdays aren’t a happy thing at your house, because think about it, if you’re parents think you’re a mistake, why in the world would they celebrate the day you were born? Exactly, they wouldn’t. It wasn’t uncommon when you were younger, for them to lock you up in your room.
However, as soon as you met Ryou sometime in early grade school, he soon fixed it. That’s a reason why you love him as much as you do—no matter how unhappy you are, he always seems to be able to cheer you up. Even if that means he gets grounded for doing something he isn’t supposed to. {Doesn’t sound like Ryou, does it? Just remember, you’ve been friends for a long time, so he’s not AS nervously shy around you…but he still is shy…and blushes a lot…^.^ can’t get rid of the cuteness}
“Angel…” he says softly, looking at you with regret in his eyes.
Regret. Why does everyone look at me in regret? Am I really that horrible of a person? You sigh softly, and blink back the rest of the tears.
“Yeah…?” you mumble darkly. “What’re you gonna do now? Apologize for forgetting my birthday? Well don’t waste your breath, Ryou…I’m used to it at home, so why not with my best friend, ya know?” You look at him, smiling bitterly.
However, no matter how hard you are watching him, you don’t see the pained look in his eyes at the simple words “best friend”.
“Angel…” he repeats sadly. “It’s not something that should be pushed aside. It’s literally killing me to know I let you down…again…” {0.o flashbacking…or no flashbacking…or is it foreshadowing?? *gets hit with the Rod* How the…*grabs it from whoever hit with it* Give me that…@.@}
You flinch at the memory. “C’mon, Ryou…I told you to forget about that…I forgave you for it a long time ago…”
He sighs miserably. “I know, but I can’t do the same. It amazes me every time I see you that you’re still talking to me, let alone still my friend…after what I did…”
Gnawing on your bottom lip, you begin shifting from one foot to the other which is your main sign of anxiety or impatience. Ryou’s talking about the past, is beginning to rub your heart raw again with memories that you have tried so hard to forget.
“Ryou, stop…” you mutter. “I don’t want to remember that night…please…”
He forces a smile. “Sorry Angel…”
The two of you stand there in silence, which is a very awkward thing after what you two just remembered, and carefully avoid each other’s gaze. It finally hits you why you are upset with him in the first place, and you growl softly.
“You’re not gonna explain it to me, are you…” you ask softly, looking at him sadly.
His gaze jerks back to you, and confusion fills his eyes. “Explain wha—” he breaks off as comprehension dawns on him. “Oh…I dunno, not tonight ok?” he asks, looking at you hopefully, yet warily at the same time. {Is that possible ^.^;;}#nosmileys
