Fountie: Meh…I realized something…
Bakura: That you have no brain?
Fountie: Be nice for once. And no, that Kittie and I have totally different ways of writing…
Bakura: That only proves that neither of you has a brain, which we already knew.
Fountie: You’re a grouch in the morning, aren’t you?
Bakura: *growls*
Fountie: Heh ^_^;; Kittie? Your surprise is at the end of the chapter…so you’re forced to read it ^_^
Marik: *somewhere slightly distant* I’M NOT COMING OUT!!!
Fountie: Er…flashback will be marked with –X- cause it looks kool and I’m too lazy to italicize it…
Jerking awake, you glance around frantically. Noticing you are, once again, in a rather large blue bedroom, you sigh heavily and lie back down. Your bed is also rather large—it being queen-size—but it feels so empty since you’re the only one in it and you’re not a large person.
Half of you regrets not staying with Ryou, but after the fight you two have had, it doesn’t seem like you have much of a choice.
“…so then you use the combination of your cards to create an unbeatable deck,” Ryou finishes, smiling at you.
You, however, are just staring at him like an idiot because none of the stuff your friend has been telling you for the past hour and a half makes any sense. It is just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo if anyone asks you. Of course, no one will because no one cares if you understand it or not.
It’s not like you’re stupid, it’s just the whole thing is beyond your mindset, and it doesn’t interest you at all. The only reason you keep insisting to Ryou that he explain it to you again—and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again—is so that he doesn’t leave you in the dark when he’s talking to his other friends about it. His friends that actually understand it.
“You still don’t get it, do you?” he asks quietly, the smile replaced with a frustrated frown.
You just shake your head and sigh. “Nope.”
“Maybe it’s not worth it,” he says quietly. “You don’t have to understand it just because I do.”
“But I want to!” you protest with a frown.
“It’s really not important, though!” he insists stubbornly.
“But I’m tired of being left in the dark when you talk about it with Yugi and the others!” you say rather loudly.
“You wouldn’t be left out in the dark if you would pay attention!” he replies, but doesn’t yell.
“Maybe I’d pay attention if I actually knew them.”
He looks confused. “But you do know them!”
“No, I don’t. All I know is that Yugi’s grandfather owns a game shop, Joey and Tristan have really bad eating manners, and Tea’s the most annoying person I’ve ever met!”
“You don’t know many people!”
“Well maybe I would if they didn’t treat me like dirt!”
Suddenly, Ryou’s eyes look sad and pained. “That was a long time ago, Angel…”
You just glare at him. “Sixth months isn’t that long ago, Ryou.”
He winces a little. “Alright…but they won’t treat you like dirt. Not everyone is like that.”
“I don’t trust Joey, Tristan, and Tea,” you mutter stubbornly.
“What about Yugi?” he asks, a strange emotion flashing in his usually happy brown eyes.
You shrug. “He’s too cute and innocent to mistrust.”
He frowns a little. “Do you have a crush on him or something?”
You blink in surprise, before raising an eyebrow. “Of course not! I barely know him!”
If possible, Ryou looks actually angrier. His eyes actually narrow and you’re quite startled to see the look on his face. You back away a bit.
“You ok?”
“No,” he mutters lowly almost in a growl.
You swallow hard, having never seen him act like this before. “Was it something I said?”
A cold, bitter smile makes its way onto his normally cute and innocent face. “Maybe.”
