“Uh…hello, Melody.”
Ryou was standing there awkwardly. He had a very light blush on his cheeks from ringing the doorbell of a girl’s house.
You smiled. “Hey, Ryou! Where’s Bakura?” you asked, peering around.
He pointed at the black car in your driveway. “He’s driving.”
You gave him a look. “Are you sure that’s a good idea? Remember last time?”
Your British friend paled considerably as memories flashed through his mind. He laughed nervously, scratching his neck.
“Er…he promised to stay relatively close to the speed limit.”
You rolled your eyes. “You mean he glared at you and you decided not to push it.”
Ryou flushed and looked down. “Maybe…”
Shaking your head, you quickly closed the door behind you and locked it. Putting the key in your pocket, you turned back to your friend with a smile.
“Let’s go, Ducky!” With that, you grabbed his hand and pulled him in the direction of the car.
You didn’t see him blushing furiously the whole time.
“Hi, Mousie!” you called as you let go of Ryou’s hand and crawled into the back seat.
Bakura grunted and shot you an annoyed glare. “Why do you insist on calling me that?”
You smiled at him and shrugged, but didn’t answer. He growled and started the car, tearing out of your driveway and down the street. A glance at Ryou showed he was still reminiscing about the previous times his yami had driven.
A sharp turn sent you flying across the seat and head-first into the window. Glancing up, you could have sworn you saw a concerned glance from Bakura, before he was smirking at you as if you were an idiot.
“Having problems staying seated, Mel?” he sneered.
Shooting him a glare, you slid back behind his seat and slouched down. “Stupid, senial, decrepit, thief!” you grumbled.
“I heard that,” Bakura growled.
You stuck out your tongue. “Good!”
Suddenly a look flashed through his eyes as he looked at you through the mirror. It looked a lot like he was hurt and trying to hide it. You frowned softly at him, worried.
“Mousie?”
His eyes flashed, the look gone almost instantly. He looked away from the mirror so you couldn’t see his face.
“What?” he growled.
Frowning more, you shrugged and forced a grin. “Nothing!”
“Bakura, watch out!” Ryou shouted suddenly.
If you hadn’t gone flying towards the windshield, only saved when Ryou wrapped his arms around your waist, you would have found the whole experience funny. Instead of jerking into the glass, you jerked into his rather comfy lap with a small squeak. The brakes squealed as Bakura barely managed to keep from hitting the parked car.
“We’re here,” he growled.
Neither you or Ryou even heard him, too busy staring at each other in surprise. Both of you missed the jealous glare Bakura sent his hikari.
“Ryou! Melody!”
Blinking, you glanced over to the yami, before glancing back up to see your comfortable seat blushing furiously.
“Sorry,” you chuckled nervously crawling off his lap and into the back seat to make sure your key hadn’t fallen out.
When positive it hadn’t, you crawled out of the car to stand next to the still-red hikari.
“Ryou?” you inquired, wondering if he was still embarrassed about holding you.
He looked at you and smiled nervously. “I’m asking Tea out today. You think she’ll say yes?”
You felt your heart plunge to your stomach, but forced a smile of encouragement anyway. “Of course she will!”
He smiled, without any anxiety, and walked towards the building. I know I sure would, you added mentally with a heavy sigh.
It amazed you that Ryou—shy, sweet, quiet, calm—liked someone like Tea—loud, obnoxious, pregnant dogy, way too perky—and yet, you knew better. Tea, while having a major crush on Yami—so much as to give Yugi false hope—she would go out with Ryou. If not out of purely wanting to for his popularity, than to try and get Yami jealous.
But it wouldn’t work; Yami liked someone else according to Yugi. Ryou would end up with his heart being broken and you would be left with a mope-y bishie.
“Why did you lie to him?”
Turning around, you gave Bakura an annoyed look to which he snorted. You sighed.
“I didn’t. She will say yes…” you muttered.
“You like him don’t you?”
You shrugged and refused to look at him. “Maybe.”
He snorted, looking almost amused. “Are you going to go after him and get hurt, o rare you going to come with me?”
“Aren’t you going to school?”
“No. I have stuff to do,” he growled.
“Oh? Like what?” you asked, curiously.
He smirked at you. “You’ll only find out if you come with me.”
You frowned.
What do you do?

Priestess: Yay for meee!! I finally finished something!
Marik: Didn’t you promise someone you’d finish Dead Foxes next?
Priestess: SHHH!!! I can’t do that…T.T I hit a major writer’s block…
Ryou: Is there any way I could help?
Priestess: *pats him on the head* No, sorry. I know what I WANT to happen, I just…don’t know how to get there…*sighs*
Seto: That’s because you’re an idiot.
Priestess: *glares* No, it’s because I’d rather write about Athrun and Kira from Gundam SEED than about a pompous, egotistical, arrogant, scarred-up CEO!
Seto: *glares* So don’t!
Priestess: I HAVE TO! *grumbles* They’d probably mutiny if I made the fic a Ryou fic…*frustrated sigh*
Ryou: *squeaks* Me?
Priestess: Uh huh…I keep getting tempted to turn ALL of my fics into fics with you…so I can’t help the fluffy moments…which is why I like this chapter most ^_^;;
Yugi: Please review while she tries to figure out what next! *insert his famous cute smile*
Marik: Or you could request it in an email or the review itself…but NOT this one…
Ryou: It gives her headaches…
